Miners Baseball Set Coaching Staff for 2010
From Miners Baseball
The Southern Illinois Miners have announced the coaching staff for the upcoming season with a shift in responsibilities. Bart Zeller, Ralph Santana and Ron Biga will return to the club as members of Manager Mike Pinto’s coaching staff while Pitching Coach Brendan Sagara will not return. He has taken a position in his native Hawaii with a new independent club starting up this season in Maui.
After three seasons as the Miners bench coach, Zeller will become the pitching coach. Ralph Santana, back for this third season on the Miners coaching staff, will move across the diamond from first base coach to third base coach and will work with the hitters. Ron Biga, who has also been with the club for the last two seasons, will continue in his dual role as coach and advance scout and will once again assist in player procurement.
