Rockford RiverHawks Host Free Youth Baseball Clinic in Loves Park Illinois

The Rockford RiverHawks will host a free youth baseball clinic on Sunday November 6th at Wallbangers Academy in Loves Park Illinois. 

This free clinic will focus on hitting, and is one of a series of free clinics scheduled through May, 2012. 

Clinics are broken down by age groups where ages 7-12 go from noon to 1PM and ages 13 and older go from 1-2PM.

I70 2011 Baseball Coaches Clinic

The annual I70 coaches clinic will be held on Monday January 17th at Greenville Junior High School in Greenville, IL.  Registration starts at 8:00 am and the clinic will start at 9:00 am.

Guest speakers include:

Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association 2011 Coaches Clinic

The Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association annual coaches clinic will be held at the College of DuPage on February 4th and 5th 2011.  The speaker lineup has not been released yet but for more information please contact the IHSBCA at 630-505-1000.

Blackburn Baseball Winter Hitting Clinic

The Blackburn College Baseball team will be hosting a three-day Winter Hitting Clinic for high school players, February 13-15 in the Dawes Gymnasium on the campus of Blackburn College. The clinic is broken down into four individual sessions each day and no more than two players from the same high school may register for the same session per Illinois High School Association rules.


Each session will last for two hours and will consist of hitting and bunting drills and instruction on stance, stride, swing path, weight transfer and finish. Each hitter will also be put on video and have analysis through the Right-View Pro hitting computer program.

Clinic instructors include Blackburn College Head Coach Mike Neal who brings twenty years of college-coaching experience to the clinic as well as area high school coaches and Blackburn College players. Also expected to make guest appearances are Bob Simpson co-owner of Hit Repair, a state of the art hitting academy in southern Illinois as well as Rend Lake College Head Coach Tony Etnier.

Kane County Cougars Coaches Clinic

The Kane County Cougars will hold its annual Coaches Clinic on Saturday February 27th from 9:30 am until noon at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva Illinois. 
Although open to the public, the purpose of the free clinic is to specifically instruct coaches, and therefore, is intended for adult coaches rather than youth players.


This year's clinic will include several professional instructors from the Cougars, as well as Kane County's parent club, the Oakland Athletics, who will be present to share coaching philosophies, tips and offer specific guidance in the areas of on-field execution, training, and coaching style. Participants will be divided into small groups and visit each station throughout the morning session. Guests are encouraged to bring notepads or video recorders for their convenience.

The following clinic instructors are expected to attend: Cougars manager Aaron Nieckula, former Cougars hitting coach Matt Winters and athletic trainer Mark Nilles.

The clinic is provided free-of-charge as a community service from the Cougars and Athletics. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided for attendees. Interested attendees are asked to RSVP by calling the Cougars at (630) 232-8811 or emailing dedison@kanecountycougars.com. Clinic instructors are subject to change.

Western Illinois University Coaches Clinic


The Western Illinois baseball program will hold a special coaches clinic on Sunday, Feb. 14. Fighting Leatherneck head coach Mike Villano and his staff will hold a clinic for coaches of all levels that will focus on hitting, pitching, catching, base running, infield drills, outfield drills, strength and conditioning, and coaching strategy.


The clinic will start promptly at 9 a.m. with registration and includes a four hour instructional session from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information or to sign up contact head coach Mike Villano at (309) 298-1521 or coach Todd Coryell at toddcoryell@hotmail.com. Payment can be made the day of the camp (checks made out to Western Illinois Baseball) and walk-ins are welcome.

2010 Illinois Baseball Coaches Clinic will be January 18

2010 Clinic will be January 18

The annual I-70 baseball coaches clinic will feature guest speakers:


Ron Polk - volunteer assistant coach, University of Alabama at Brimingham. He is the former head coach at Mississippi State, Georgia and Georgia Southern. Polk went to the College World Series with each of those schools. He has a career record of 1373- 702.






Derek Johnson, pitching coach, Vanderbilt University. Johnson has made stops at Vandy, Stetson, Southern Illinois and Eastern Illinois.







Joel Hawkins, head coach Highland High School. Hawkins has coached 19 seasons compiling a 401-203 record during that time.

2010 Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Clinic

The 2010 Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Clinic will be held on Friday February 5th and Saturday February 6th, 2010 at the Bulls/Sox Academy in Lisle Illinois. This years clinic will include the head coach (John Cohen) and pitching coach (Butch Thompson) from Mississippi State University, Cory Stevens- head coach from Wabash College, Nate Metzger - head coach at Heartland Community College, Joe Walsh-head coach at Harvard University, Mike Huff and Justin Stone-Chicago White Sox and Pete Caliendo from Caliendo Sports International.
