Luke Harrison Tosses No Hitter For the Dekalb County Liners

Luke Harrison of the Dekalb County Liners tossed a 1-0 no hitter defeating the Rockford Foresters 1-0 Sunday in Sycamore Illinois.


Harrison tossed 109 pitches and struck out three moving his record in the Midwest Collegiate  Baseball League to 6-0 on the season with a 1.39 ERA. 


Luke will be a sophomore at Indiana University this fall and lives in Glenview, Illinois.


The Dekalb County Liners are in their third season as a summer collegiate baseball team.  The Liners participated in the Prospect League their first two seasons and moved to the Midwest Collegiate League in 2012.  The win moved Dekalb 1/2 in first place with a 25-14 record on the season.

Midwest Collegiate Baseball League Adds Seventh Team - Illinois Lincolns

The Midwest Collegiate Baseball League announced that the Illinois Lincolns will join the league for this summer.  The Illinois Lincolns are from Will County and will play their home games at Joliet Junior College.

The Lincolns join the Dekalb County Liners, Dupage Hounds, Rockford Foresters, Will County CrakerJacks, Chicago Zephers and the Southland Vikings.  An 8th club is also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Midwest Collegiate League was formed in 2010 and is quickly becoming one of the most notable summer collegiate leagues in the Midwest.

Another New Baseball Team in the Midwest Collegiate League....Joliet

The Midwest Collegiate League has another new team for the 2012 summer season, Joliet.  The Midwest Collegiate League announced the club will be owned by Eloot Sports and Entertainment, same organization that owns the Will County CrackerJacks, which is Jamie Toole.  Toole was the GM for the now defunct Joliet JackHammers.

The Joliet club will announce their name this month and have reported the signing of three players so far.  Joliet will play their games at Joliet Junior College.

Dekalb County Liners Move to the Midwest Collegiate League for 201

The Dekalb County Liners baseball club has chosen to move from the Prospect League to the Midwest Collegiate League for 2012 due to the extensive travel and game schedules along with costs related to the Prospect League.

Dekalb joins former Prospect League team Dupage and the league has plans to announce additional expansion news soon.

The Midwest Collegiate League plays a 46 game schedule beginning on June 1st with a post season playoff and a July 11th All-Star game.

The Dekalb County Liners play their home games in Sycamore Illinois.

DuPage County Hounds Join the Midwest Collegiate League in 2012

The Dupage County Hounds will join the Midwest Collegiate League for the 2012 summer season.  The Hounds are a new summer wood bat collegiate team which will replace the Dupage Dragons at Benedictine University.  The Midwest Collegiate League was formed in the fall of 2010.

The Hounds also announced the hiring of Sean Osborne as Head Coach.  Osborne played two summers for the Dupage Dragons and was the hitting and catching coach for Benedictine University in 2010.

The Midwest Collegiate Baseball League Announced

The Midwest Collegiate League announced it's formation with four teams from the Great Plains Summer Collegiate, which was founded in 2010 and one new team - the Will County CrackerJacks.  The new league will begin play this summer with a 40 game schedule, an All-Star game and a post season playoff. 

The league will start play on June 1st 2011.  The five teams in the league include:

Chicago Zephyrs
Homestead Ranchers
Rockford Foresters
Southland Vikings
Will County CrackerJacks
