Chicago State's New Head Baseball Coach - Steve Joslyn

Chicago State named Steve Joslyn as their new head baseball coach in August.  Joslyn takes over for Michael Caston who lasted four years at Chicago State University.  Chicago State Finished the 2012 season with a 13-40 record.

Joslyn comes from Northern Illinois University after spending 10 years as an assistant coach for the Huskies.  Northern Illinois finished last season with a 15-40 record.

Chicago State Adds Four Junior College Transfers

The Chicago State University Cougar baseball program announced four junior college transfers will join the team for the 2010-2011 school year.

JUCO transfers include outfielders Rick Jordan (New Lenox, IL) and Weston Lewis, catcher Jack Bobillo and utility player Ryan Maholtra.

The transfers will join David Sindwald (Lansing, IL), Tony Sanchez (Plainfield, IL), Steven O'Hair, A.J. Reyes, Andrew Watson, Dylan Sterrett and Gavin Trevino to the Chicago State baseball team.

Chicago State Baseball Adds Four Junior College Transfers

Chicago State University announced the addition of four Junior College tranfers for the 2010-2011 school year.

Joining the Cougars this fall are catcher Jack Bobillo (Michigan City, IN), outfielders Rick Jordan (New Lenox, IL) and Weston Lewis (Denver, CO) and utility player Ryan Maholtra (Oakville, Ont.).

The latest additions will join David Sindewald (Lansing, IL), Tony Sanchez (Plainfield, IL), Steven O'Hair (Phoenix, AZ), A.J. Reyes (Winter Haven, FL), Andrew Watson (Shawnee, OK), Dylan Sterrett (Frontier, IN) and Gavin Trevino (East Kentwood, MI).

Chicago State Baseball Wins it's First for 2010

Chicago State University gets their first win 12-11 over Southern Utah last Friday evening in Palm Beach Florida.  Patrick Hernandez, Albert Carpen and Kevin Hussey all had three hits and two rbi's in the victory.  Albert Carpen also recorded his first collegiate save in the victory.

Chicago State baseball drops its fourth game in a row losing to Mercer 17-4 in Georgia on Monday.  Chicago State catcher Hussey drove in all four runs with a grand slam in the fifth inning.

Chicago State University Baseball Signs Dylan Sterrett for 2010-11 Season


Chicago, Illinois - Chicago State baseball has announced that Indiana high school standout Dylan Sterrett to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cougars starting in 2010-11.


Sterrett is a three-sport athlete at Frontier (Ind.) High School competing in football, basketball and baseball where he has earned numerous accolades for his athletic prowess, including all-state honors in all three sports. He competes as an infielder and pitcher for Frontier’s baseball team.

CSU Baseball Inks Michigan Standout for 2010-11

Chicago State baseball announced the recent signing of Gavin Trevino (East Kentwood, Mich.) to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Cougars beginning with 2010-11 school year.


Trevino is the first signee for the Cougars and more signings will be announced down the road.
