Chicago State University announced the addition of four Junior College tranfers for the 2010-2011 school year.
Joining the Cougars this fall are catcher Jack Bobillo (Michigan City, IN), outfielders Rick Jordan (New Lenox, IL) and Weston Lewis (Denver, CO) and utility player Ryan Maholtra (Oakville, Ont.).
The latest additions will join David Sindewald (Lansing, IL), Tony Sanchez (Plainfield, IL), Steven O'Hair (Phoenix, AZ), A.J. Reyes (Winter Haven, FL), Andrew Watson (Shawnee, OK), Dylan Sterrett (Frontier, IN) and Gavin Trevino (East Kentwood, MI).
North Central College will host a fall prospect for high school juniors and seniors on October 24th 2010.
The camp will be held at North Central's Zimmerman Stadium and will be staffed by North Central coaches and players.
Campers will be evaluated and will be able to attend a variety of instructional sessions as well as a scrimmage.
The cost of the camp is $45 for early registration and $50 on the day of the camp. The camp will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

SIU head baseball coach Dan Callahan announced Tuesday that P.J. Finigan as the new Pitching Coach for the Salukis.
Finigan was an infielder/pitcher for the Salukis from 2002-2005 and a seventh round draft pick for the Detroit Tigers.
Illinois State University will host a high school baseball showcase camp at Duffy Bass Field in Normal, IL on October 30th 2010. The camp is open to High School players, starts at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm and costs $165.00.
The camp is designed for serious high school players who want to find out what it takes to play at the college level.

The Gateway Grizzlies will hold their annual fall Try-Out camp at GSC Ballpark on Saturday October 9th 2010. Registration for the try-out begins at 8:00 am and is open to players 20 years of age to under 27 years of age as of January 1st 2010.

Northern Illinois University will hold their "Top Dawg" prospect camp on Saturday September 18th, 2010. Individual players in grades 9 and above are eligible and the camp is limited to 72 players.
The camp fee is $130 which includes a t-shirt, written skill assessment and lunch.

Zach Williams signed his first professional baseball contract with the Winnipeg Goldeyes, an independent league team in the Northern League.
Wiliams, who signed on August 7th, hit .311 in 56 games for Judson in 2010 and toured with the U.S. Military All-Stars last summer. Zach is an infielder, transferred to Judson from Heartland Community College and is from Bloomington, IL.
RHP Tony Zych was presented the Russ Ford Award as the Cape Cod Baseball League's Outstanding Relief Pitcher and also earned the Robert A. McNeese Award as the Outstanding Pro Prospect, the two most prestigious awards in the Cape Cod League.
Zych recored 12 saves in 20.1 innings and finished with a 0.89 ERA for the summer.
Tony is from Monee, IL, attended St. Rita High School and is currently at Louisville.
Dave Dettman announced in a mass email that he has been replaced as head baseball coach at Rock Valley Community College as of today.
Rock Valley Community College was 37-63 in two seasons under Dettman.
The Lewis University Flyers rounded out it's recruiting class by signing division I transfer Joey Gradney from Cleveland State University.

Western Illinois University will hold a two day prospect camp on September 11th and 12th for prospective players between the ages of 15-20.
The two day session will feature professional instruction in all aspects of baseball along with detailed instruction on hitting and pitchings. The camp will also provide information on recruiting and NCAA Clearinghouse information.

Eastern Illinois University baseball announced that Tyler Schweigert and Adam Clark have been added for the 2010-2011 season.
Tyler Schweigert is a right handed hitting infielder from Libertyville and Adam Clark comes from Lincoln Trail Community College.
Eastern Illinois is coming off of an 18-35 record in 2010.

Nazareth Academy was crowned the 2010 Phil Lawler Champions by defeating Streamwood High School 9-2 on July 29th.
Dominic Purpura earned the win throwing five innings giving up six hits and no earned runs. Ryan Powers went 2-3 with a grand slam, 4 rbi's, a walk and scored twice and was named the tournament MVP.
This was the first summer tournament for both Streamwood High School and Nazareth Academy. Nazareth finished the summer season 33-4-2 and Streamwood finished 31-6.

Dominic Savino takes over the Glenbrook North Varsity Baseball coaching position for Barry Ruppert who stepped down after 15 years.
Savino had been the varsity assistant baseball coach at Niles Notre Dame, played at Elk Grove High School and Harper Community College.
Downers Grove North pitcher Anthony Ciango gave his verbal commitment to play college baseball at Northern Illinois University. Ciango went 3-3 with 47 strikeouts as a junior at Downers Grove North High School.
Jake Howells was officially approved as Dekalb's High School varsity baseball coach at the DeKalb school board meeting on Monday night with a 6-0 vote.
Howells was the former sophomore baseball coach at Sycamore High School and is currently one of the coaches with the DeKalb County Liners.
The Danville Dans and Springfield Sliders both captured first half division titles in the 2010 Prospect leage standings.
Danville captured the Central Division first half title by one game over the Richmond River Rats with a 15-12 record.
Springfield won the first half in the Western Division going 16-9 which was 1 and a half games ahead of Quincy.
